Of course they should. Hospitals look at patient outcomes don't they? We need to stop harping on individual tests and expecting them to be "perfect." Instead we need to focus on using standardized tests as a tool and one of many gauges to evaluate school performance, while we continuously improve tests and curriculum. Teaching to the test isn't a bad thing if it is a good test that encompases the subjects teh experts feel are most important to learn to master subject matter. Without some objective measure to compare schools we have no way to tell how a school is doing until it is too late (until we see how the perform after graduation).by Carol K.
