Yes, but they shouldn't be the only measure. Attendance, student/teacher/parent evaluations, graduation rates, etc are all important metrics as well. But without some benchmark rooted in academic rigor (can they read, write, answer math questions, know their history, science, etc) how else are we expected to know how schools are doing?by loren
