Teachers Unions have become so powerful that they are focused on what is best for the unions, not what is best for kids. A couple of examples that make this painfully obvious: - Unions have pushed for teacher tenure after 18-24 months. It is virtually impossible to poor performing teacher once they are tenured. Unions will say they just want "due process" before a termination, but the facts are the fact. The enclosed article found that 0.003% of CA's tenured teachers are terminated. That rounds to 0%.... How do we expect to have great schools if school leaders can't ensure the best teachers are in front of our kids? - Layoffs, due to budget issues, aren't based on performance
