((2/3)) Personally, even though I dream of a day when every LAUSD student can get a great education at their school down the street, I have lost faith in the idea that LAUSD has the ability to improve its all of its schools, even if the charter schools were shut down. The district has become too big, inefficient, and overly political. The clincher for me was when LAUSD decided last year to **cut back** its wildly successful Mandarin immersion program at Broadway Elementary School, instead of holding it up as an example to be expanded and replicated.by HF654321
