While I agree we should hold all schools accountable to perform well, I think it is dangerous and unproductive to lump all charter schools together (as you do in your enclosed analysis). We should continue to scale high performing schools and there are many examples of high performing charter schools operating in the areas with the greatest needs. The operators of these schools now have a proven track record and they should be allowed to expand. However, LAUSD should also work to hold all schools accountable and poor performing schools should be forced to improve results in a timely manner or turn them over to organizations with a proven track record.by loren
