According to this Credo Study done by Stanford, charters serving African American kids in LAUSD are having a meaningful and substantiated impact on kids. We need to switch the debat away from charters or district schools and instead focus on schools that are best for kids. All charter schools or district schools aren't good or bad - there are great not so great examples in both camps. But there is no question that there are many charter schools that are doing great work for low income areas where their incoming students are well below grade level yet they are able to close the education gap.
