Agreed, these are tough decision. I think if we look at everything through the lens of "what's best for kids" it does get easier and clearer though. If we have great charter school operators like KIPP, Green Dot, Alliance, etc with a proven track record of running high performing charter schools in areas with the greatest need (East LA and South Central for example) and they have the funds and means to expand... we should allow them to do so even if that means LAUSD will need to reduce staff and other costs accordingly. That's a tough decision because could likely mean some adults will lose their jobs... but other adults will get new jobs too... and it'll be the best decision for kids.by loren
