I agree that tests won't capture everything... but I think your other points are too extreme and black/white. Yes, there are no "perfect" tests... but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have them. There likely isn't a perfect driving test or a test for physicians to keep their license... but I'm glad we have those tests. Yes, there could be a tendency to teach to the test, but if you measure and value other things like student evaluations, parent evaluations, peer evaluations, value based growth metrics, etc. you don't just rely on the standardized tests.by LC77
