I think it is patronizing not to include student surveys as part of teacher evaluations. Aren't student's the true beneficiaries of the teaching? I think back to when I was in high school and Jr. High... we all knew who the good teachers were - there was no doubt about it. I could see this not making sense at K-4 or so... but by 5th and 6th grade kids have a decent read on the situation. But, perhaps even younger kids could be asked things like "do you learn a lot from your teacher" or "does your teacher do a good job of explaining things so you can understand them." It would be interesting to see how student evaluations at that grade correlate to test scores and learning.by LC77
